The Statistical Committee provides a forum between member governments, industry and third parties connected to the copper industry to exchange information on copper and to discuss issues related to copper statistics, market balance, prepares market forecasts, recycling, market studies and other topics affecting the copper industry.

The three main objectives of ICSG statistical work are to:

• Improve statistics on copper

• Increase market transparency and

• Undertake studies on issues related to copper that are of interest to member governments and industry.

In order to fulfill these objectives, the Committee produces a series of publications on copper statistics, creates forecasts of future copper production and usage, and undertakes a range activities and projects specified in its work program.
